Job Description

The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Senior Regional Philanthropy Officer to support our donors in the South Florida Region (Miami and Ft Lauderdale). This role involves identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective regional donors, managing a portfolio to meet revenue goals of $750,000, and acting as a resource for less experienced team members.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the local fundraising team to develop and execute a regional strategy for qualifying corporate donors, ensuring retention, growth, and recapture from previous donors.
  • Collaborate with other departments and fundraising staff to create customized solicitation strategies that align with organizational objectives and donor interests.
  • Solicit assigned donor portfolios through face‑to‑face visits and virtual meetings, preparing personalized materials.
  • Meet personal annual revenue targets with an assigned portfolio of donors and prospects.
  • Implement programs to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at the $10,000 level or higher, maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross.
  • Maintain donor records in the Salesforce database.
  • Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives through giving to the American Red Cross.
  • Balance work‑from‑home, in‑person donor meetings, and on‑site office time.
  • Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects as appropriate.
What You Need To Succeed

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is highly desirable.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of sales and/or fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience, with proven success in donor retention, growth, and recapture.

Skills & Abilities: Ability to relate well with multiple constituencies, excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, knowledge of office systems (MS‑Office preferred) and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, ). Must have a current valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Travel: Frequent travel within the region.
