Advocacy Programs Specialist The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our organization as an Advocacy Programs Specialist. In this role, you willbe responsible for facilitating curriculum and programs aimed at preparing youth to become effectiveadvocates. The ideal candidate should have a passion for youth development, strong organizational skills, and the ability to create meaningful partnerships in the community.

Job Responsibilities )1. Lead all youth-led advocacy efforts, including managing and coordinating the Advocacy Careers Training (ACT!) Program through curriculum development, session facilitation, and intentionalmentorship that empowers youth to develop advocacy skills, public speaking abilities, and effective communication strategies.
2. Facilitate Advocacy 101, a series of weekly workshops that equip Club teens with the knowledge and tools to develop and execute impactful advocacy campaigns.
3. Oversee The Club’s Youth Council, a youth-led initiative that plans and executes an annualproject to create positive, tangible change in our community.
4. Enhance and update advocacy and leadership curricula based on industry standards, trends,and current events, ensuring lesson relevance and effectiveness in preparing youth for leadership roles.
5. Develop innovative recruitment strategies to promote Advocacy 101, ACT!, and Youth Council.

Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in the recruitment process, identifying diverse targetaudiences and implementing effective methods to reach them.
6. Coordinate logistics and serve as the staff lead for the Florida House and the Florida Senate Page Programs, as well as the Summit for America’s Youth (SAY). Ensure a successful experience for all participants by attending these events to provide support and oversee smooth operations.
7. Establish and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, governmentaladvisory committees, non-profit leaders, and local businesses.
8. Collect and analyze data to access the effectiveness and impact of Club programs and useevaluation findings to improve program outcomes.

Requirements of the position include:
Bachelor’s Degree required. 3+ years of experience in youth development, leadership, or a related field preferred. Experience in curriculum development and program facilitation. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Belief in the mission, values, and standards of BGCSDC.This is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work required.
