Responsibilities
- Identify progressive/LGBTQ events in the area to increase visibility
- Train and recruit volunteers
- Collect stories and build relationships with the community
- Mobilize Equality Florida's membership to attend field events
- Participate in and manage field events with the Field Organizer
- Assist in the approval/passage of pro-equality policies
- Have event planning and organizing skills
- Be organized and detail oriented
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Have a reliable smartphone and laptop for use
- Have occasional weekend and weeknight availability
- Be comfortable speaking to strangers and people with different world/political views
- Be incredibly passionate about advancing LGBTQ+ rights and/or helping LGBTQ+ Floridians
Demonstrates strong event planning and organizing skills while effectively mobilizing community engagement to advance LGBTQ+ rights. Possesses the ability to build relationships and communicate passionately with diverse groups in a fast-paced environment.
