QualificationsRequired
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Required Experience:
- Five (5) years of relevant perioperative or pre-operative nursing leadership experience.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
Your Role:
- Oversees and directs the Surgical Pre-Admission Clinic, Pre-Operative, and Phase II Recovery areas’ ( to also include Surgical Observation) daily operations.
- Promotes a consistent, consolidated direction for providing perioperative nursing care in accordance with the nursing service’s philosophy and the hospital’s mission.
- Plans individually and collectively to determine nursing care’s future direction.
- Collaborates with clinicians to ensure systems are proper and adequate to support nursing, surgeons, and patient care.
- Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
- Communicates information timely via appropriate channels.
- Displays an understanding of diversity.
- Manages departmental budget.
- Meet goals/expectations established over the previous year.
- Manages human resources.
- Meets or exceeds all The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements.
- Solves problems; recommends sound solutions.
- Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
- Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.
