Travel RN - Home Health

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Home Health position in Sarasota/Charlotte County, FL, requiring OASIS training and skilled home care experience.

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of skilled home care experience required; private duty nursing experience alone will not be accepted
• OASIS training and hands-on experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy and wound care required
• Experience with high-risk diagnoses including heart failure (HF), COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
• Experience with post-operative care and general medical diagnoses
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required to conduct home visits
• COVID vaccination or approved exemption form required
• Flu shot or signed declination required; mandatory mask wearing at all times while on the job if declining

• Skilled home health setting serving Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
• Patient care includes cardiopulmonary assessments, basic wound care, ABI compression dressings, wound vac dressings, Pleurx/Asept drain care, Foley catheter care and changes, staple/suture removal, glucometer use, pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, lab draw venipuncture, IV care, and PICC line/Midline care and dressing changes
• Caseload of 6–8 home visits per day
• Shift hours vary based on office needs:
  Mon–Fri 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm, with possible Thurs–Mon or Fri–Tues schedules
• Alternating weekend shifts required
• Visits are self-scheduled based on Home Care office needs
• Charting and documentation uses Bay Care Forms, Bay Care Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet systems
• Equipment provided includes a laptop, MiFi for internet access, and a portable printer
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Conduct skilled home visits across the Sarasota and Charlotte County service area
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• State Board of Nursing license verification and NURSYS verification required for consideration
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable as the dress code
