Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This role provides safe, high-quality patient care in the pre-operative, procedure, and recovery areas
. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission through discharge while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and patient safety protocols.
- Assess patient status upon admission to the pre-op area, procedure suite, and recovery area, and monitor patients throughout the care process
- Document patient care, interventions, and responses accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Carry out physician orders promptly and accurately while documenting all activities
- Maintain patient safety during procedures, including protecting patients from hazards and maintaining privacy and comfort
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative phone calls and communicate concerns to appropriate staff
- Maintain competencies in conscious sedation administration and monitoring, including airway protection and patient assessment
- Ensure compliance with aseptic technique, sterile procedures, and universal precautions
- Maintain strong organizational skills and prioritize work to meet facility needs
- Support compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
- Adhere to all policies including confidentiality, infection control, OSHA safety standards, and attendance policies
- Serve as a role model and mentor to other staff when appropriate
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings
- Assist with orientation and training of nursing and ancillary staff when requested
- Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of Florida
- CPR certification required
- ACLS and PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of pre-op and post-op nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical equipment
- Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to assist patients with mobility when needed
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
