Overview
Land O Lakes, Florida – Naph Care is hiring a full‑time day shift LPN to join our clinical team at the Pasco County Detention Center.
As a Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse, you will collaborate with correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to individuals in residence. In a controlled, security‑first environment, you will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies. This unique position allows you to make a meaningful difference for a diverse patient population with complex medical needs.

ResponsibilitiesAs an LPN, you will play a critical role in delivering quality care that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems and medication history.
- Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
- Administering medication, including injections, and monitoring reaction to meds.
- Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, Tech Care.
- Observing patient health and mental health status.
- Providing emergency first aid.
- Providing patient education and discharge/release planning.
- Schedule:
- 3×12 hour shifts, from 7:00 am–7:30 pm.
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required).
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Display integrity and professionalism, adhere to a Code of Conduct, and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
