Clinical Nurse Specialist, RN Nurse
Del Sol Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Medical Surgical unit to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in El Paso, TX. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide direct patient care while coordinating daily clinical operations on the unit to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient care for a diverse adult patient population. Working within a full-service hospital and emergency room that offers advanced cardiovascular, maternity, and trauma services, you will play a key leadership role at the bedside, serving as a clinical resource, preceptor, and liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, evidence-based practice, and regulatory standards. You will oversee patient flow, assignments, and staffing for your shift, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and effective utilization of resources. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will support, coach, and mentor staff nurses and unlicensed personnel, promote adherence to clinical protocols, and assist with new staff orientation and ongoing competency development.
You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team—including physicians, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and support staff—to coordinate care, optimize patient outcomes, and enhance the overall patient and family experience. Responsibilities include monitoring clinical quality indicators, supporting performance improvement initiatives, reinforcing infection prevention and patient safety practices, and escalating concerns promptly when patient conditions change. You will assist with complex patient cases, serve as a point of contact for patient and family questions, and help resolve concerns with professionalism and compassion.
Aligned with Del Sol Medical Center’s culture of support, compassion, and community wellness, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator will model professional behavior, effective communication, and a commitment to patient-centered care. You will participate in unit-based councils, quality and safety projects, and educational activities aimed at improving clinical practice and patient outcomes. The position offers significant opportunity for professional growth through expanding leadership responsibilities, exposure to a wide range of medical-surgical conditions, and collaboration within a dynamic nursing team.
This is a full-time role with a primarily on-site schedule on the Medical Surgical unit, which may include day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts depending on department need. Candidates should bring strong clinical assessment skills in adult acute care, excellent organization and prioritization abilities, comfort in a fast-paced environment, and an interest in leadership and team coordination. Del Sol Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, along with the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients and families in the greater El Paso community.
