Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for an RN at Walton Academy for Growth and Change in Defuniak Springs, FL.

Walton Academy for Growth and Change is located approximately 35 miles from the beautiful white sand beaches in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. We are a high risk DJJ 42‑bed residential treatment facility focusing on mental health and substance abuse.

• Order and administer medications per provider’s orders.
• Transcribe provider’s orders into the medical record and medication administration records.
• Document accurately and promptly in the health record.
• Obtain vital signs and BMI, perform basic vision exam, administer IM injections.
• Collect specimens and prepare for lab courier.
• Assist chronic care clinic (e.g., diabetes, asthma, obesity).
• Manage daily sick-call and adhere to nursing protocols.
• Educate students about their health.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workspace.
• Collaborate with peers to meet department and campus needs.
• Monitor medical supply inventory and report needs for ordering.
• Assist with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.

• Registered Nursing Credential from the state of Florida.
• Minimum of two years of previous medical services administration experience, including experience in operating and securing comprehensive health services programs.
• Empathetic, patient, and respectful toward others.
• Ability to pass criminal background check, drug screen, physical, TB test, DJJ and DCF background checks.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
