Responsibilities
Gulf Coast Treatment Center is an intensive inpatient psychiatric program for adolescent females ages 12‑17. We are seeking a Nursing Manager for our Fort Walton Beach, FL location. The Nursing Manager serves as the primary care coordinator for the interdisciplinary team, implementing collaborative care plans, maintaining professional nursing standards, conducting medical management and assessments, ensuring environmental safety, and providing a consistently therapeutic milieu.
- Conduct or review complete nursing assessments of all admissions, including risk assessments (SAO, elopement, assault, suicide), educational needs, and medication review; complete all required nursing documents within established time frames.
- Actively participate in treatment team decisions, collect and include data in care plan updates, assess patient needs, design and implement programs, and document/evaluate patient responses.
- Document nursing care and treatment progression through timely and accurate chart entries and nursing care protocols.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and the clinical milieu.
- Provide oversight of seclusions and/or restraints; conduct one‑hour face‑to‑face observations.
- Ensure medication and treatment are administered as prescribed and that documentation reflects the care provided.
- Manage the process of obtaining physician orders and completing required documents.
- Provide leadership and direction to Mental Health Technicians, modeling age‑appropriate therapeutic communication in all interactions.
- Conduct rounds and actively assist therapists, keeping safety foremost.
