RN Registered Nurse Trauma Stepdown PCU

Job Summary

We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to provide clinical expertise and ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment.

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the care of Progressive Care Unit patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records, including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure; if compact license held, an active Florida RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required after 60 days of hire/transfer.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) required after 12 months of hire/transfer.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required after 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence, good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read and comprehend written instructions, and ability to follow verbal instructions.
