Plasma Center Nurse LPN

About the Role

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

The Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, follow guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs, and provide center‑level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable findings to donors or medical/technical issues.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, referencing EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognised educational nursing programme with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfil state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Successfully complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 – $31.68
