The Canine Hydrotherapy Veterinary Technician provides water-based rehabilitation therapy to dogs recovering from surgery, injury, or managing chronic conditions such as arthritis and mobility disorders. Working closely with veterinarians, this role focuses on improving patient mobility, strength, comfort, and overall quality of life through individualized hydrotherapy treatment plans.
Responsibilities- Conduct supervised canine hydrotherapy sessions using an underwater treadmill.
- Monitor patients throughout therapy sessions to ensure their safety, comfort, and progress.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and rehabilitation appointments.
- Restrain animals safely and compassionately during treatments and procedures.
- Administer prescribed patient treatments and document patient progress.
- Maintain hydrotherapy equipment and treatment areas according to safety and sanitation standards.
- Educate pet owners on rehabilitation goals, home care, and therapy progress.
- Provide exceptional customer service while creating a positive experience for clients and their pets.
