Plant Health Care Technician – Joshua Tree Experts (Tampa, FL)

As a Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician, you will manage an assigned territory of residential and commercial properties, providing integrated plant health care and pest management treatments. In this role, you will be trusted to diagnose issues, execute treatments, build strong relationships with clients, and represent Joshua Tree Experts across Tampa.
Key Responsibilities- Territory & Field Operations: Complete daily assigned work in a timely and efficient manner; manage an assigned route across residential and commercial properties; meet or exceed daily production and performance goals set by the Department Supervisor.
- Diagnostics & Client Care: Diagnose and treat common ornamental tree and shrub issues; recommend treatment plans to improve plant health; identify opportunities for other Joshua Tree Experts services; build professional, trusting relationships with clients while delivering excellent customer service.
- Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance: Prepare trucks daily with proper products and promotional materials; safely operate equipment (including spray rigs, backpack sprayers, air spades, and other arboriculture tools); perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance; complete daily truck inspections and notify supervisors of major repair needs.
- Safety & Compliance: Comply with all safety rules and regulations regarding vehicles and equipment; identify potential job-site hazardous situations; keep accurate paperwork and complete all product usage information.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience in plant health care application services
- Strong self-motivation, drive, organization, and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to operate specialized PHC equipment (spray rigs, backpack sprayers, air spades, etc.)
- Knowledge to identify and diagnose ornamental tree and shrub issues, as well as job-site hazards
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, with availability for overtime and weekends as necessary
- Physical capability to lift at least 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day, as well as bend, stoop, and walk up steep hills while pushing or dragging equipment
- Florida Pesticide Applicator License (or PA Pesticide Applicator License)
