This intermediate environmental position in the Department of Environmental Protection develops and reviews standard operating procedures for sample collection, field testing, and quality assurance documentation related to coastal protection monitoring programs. The role ensures QA support activities, conducts audits, provides training to staff, and supports the preparation of annual QA reports to the DEP Secretary. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and requires independent evaluation of the department's Quality System and coordination of special projects.
Keyqualifications
- At least four years of verifiable related experience in an environmental field
- Knowledge of Florida coastal policies and environmental field sampling techniques
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) principles and laboratory/field/data validation activities
- Knowledge of data management best practices and DEP SOPs
- Ability to conduct field audits and demonstrate high computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver license and ability to travel
