A Postdoctoral Fellow is sought to join the Nanobio Materials and Robotics (NMR) group at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and the FAMU‑FSU College of Engineering. This position spans operations at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Florida A&M University, and Florida State University.
ResponsibilitiesThe individual will work on a series of Mayo Clinic, NIH, DoD, and NASA projects related to organ engineering, 3D bioprinting, and mechanobiology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Training undergraduate and graduate students in experimental tissue engineering and additive biomanufacturing.
- Developing and characterizing functional tissues.
- Participating in government‑funded frontier biomedical science and engineering research.
- Engaging in mentorship and initiating independent research projects.
- Utilizing laboratory resources at the NHMFL, FAMU, and FSU.
- PhD in Bioengineering, Cell/Microbiology, Immunology, or a related discipline.
- Experience with primary mammalian cell culture and animal handling.
- A strong publication record and excellent writing skills.
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as 2‑Photon Nanolithography and Direct Ink Writing.
- Advanced knowledge in image processing and optical microscopy (e.g., confocal microscopy).
- Proficiency in in‑vitro techniques and assays (cytotoxicity, angiogenesis, immunohistochemistry, protein and gene expression).
- Team player with outstanding leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
