Location: Tallahassee
Position
Assistant Professor for Research – Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health.
Responsibilities- Involved in drug design and discovery, playing an integral role in High Throughput Screening (HTS) research activities.
- Support faculty and student research by providing advanced technical expertise and maintaining standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of scientific instrumentation; conduct daily system checks to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Assist in the oversight and training of graduate students, PharmD students, postdoctoral fellows, and other trainees or collaborators.
- Develop, implement, and conduct independent and collaborative research projects; maintain competitive extramural grant support.
- Disseminate new scientific knowledge through peer‑reviewed publications, scholarly presentations, and participation in scientific review panels and editorial boards.
- Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings.
- Doctor of Philosophy degree or its equivalent in an area related to pharmacology/toxicology and/or medicinal chemistry.
- Strong record of biomedical research in medicinal chemistry, with emphasis on rational drug design (including molecular modeling), chemical synthesis, separation techniques, and structural elucidation using NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis.
- Robust publication record in peer‑reviewed journals and evidence of leadership in multidisciplinary collaborations.
This is a Faculty position.
