This Biological Scientist III position within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Division of Food Safety Bureau of Laboratories conducts food analysis using laboratory methods, verifies analytical results, and ensures quality assurance under ISO 17025 standards. The role works independently and collaboratively to maintain laboratory operations, develop new analytical methods, and support cross-cutting laboratory initiatives. • Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, natural, or agricultural sciences plus two years of related professional experience (or equivalent advanced degree with less experience)
• Knowledge of biological research terminology, principles, and laboratory testing techniques
• Skill in use of scientific laboratory equipment and ability to conduct biological analyses
• Ability to collect, record, and analyze scientific data and perform quantitative analysis
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain accurate research records
