Job Overview

As a Leader, Prestige Selling at Macy’s, you play a key role in driving sales, elevating the customer experience, and supporting the success of our Beauty department. As the expert across multiple prestige cosmetics brands, you combine strong product knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for beauty to create a high‑performing and customer‑focused environment.

In this role, you will lead by example—engaging with customers to deliver personalized service, coaching Beauty Advisors to meet performance goals, and executing events and brand strategies to grow market share. You will foster client loyalty, champion new product launches, and partner with vendors and store leadership to deliver consistent business results. Your ability to inspire others and stay on top of beauty trends makes you a trusted resource and a valued leader on the team.

Day‑to‑Day

Responsibilities
  • Start the day positively by greeting colleagues, maintaining a polished and organized counter, and reviewing daily sales goals, new launches, top products, and current beauty trends.
  • Lead through action on the floor by welcoming customers with genuine hospitality, eye contact, and friendly, personal conversations that build lasting relationships.
  • Ensure a shoppable space by keeping testers clean and stocked, signage and pricing current, and displays reflecting brand standards. Support merchandising updates and keep the layout visually appealing.
  • Assist the team in finishing strong by reminding them to share loyalty benefits, ensuring customers leave fully satisfied, and concluding each interaction with a sincere thank‑you and a personal touch.
  • Model collaboration, honesty, and care to support peers and improve overall customer service.
  • Pursue excellence as a journey—improve daily, achieve sales goals, and learn from each other to deliver store results.
Who You Are and What You Will Do
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through personalized consultations and expert product knowledge.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients and drive client development through outreach and follow‑up.
  • Analyze daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual sales results to implement strategies that grow business and improve outcomes.
  • Plan and execute in‑store and vendor‑led events to drive traffic and engagement.
  • Maintain brand standards through proper merchandising, hygiene, and stock replenishment.
  • Collaborate with vendors, personal stylists, and store leadership to optimize outcomes.
  • Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.
  • Resolve customer concerns in a professional, customer‑first manner.
  • Stay informed on new launches, best‑sellers, and beauty trends to support team education.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • 3–5 years of relevant retail, beauty, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to:
    • Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and supervisors.
    • Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
Essential

Physical Requirements You Will Perform
  • Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25 lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders, and reaching, including above eye level.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash register, to process transactions.
