Job Description
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for converting inbound leads to customers and growing sales within assigned accounts. This role primarily focuses on inbound activity from the Company’s websites. This includes preparing quotations, developing customer relationships, responding to inquiries, processing initial orders, and providing both technical and transactional support to ensure customer satisfaction. The position also involves nurturing existing assigned accounts with new products and services to meet and exceed annual sales goals.
The Inside Sales Representative works closely with the Business Development team, Engineering, and Operations to drive revenue growth and deliver value to customers.
Responsibilities Inbound Activity- Quickly respond to initial inbound lead activity, primarily driven from the Company’s websites.
- Proactively manage inbound leads using defined sales processes to convert target accounts to customers and advance qualified opportunities through initial order placement, escalating larger or strategic opportunities per company guidelines.
- Leverage the Company’s quoting tools to streamline the workflow.
- Process initial customer purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, terms, and delivery schedules within approved pricing and commercial authority.
- Track and manage initial customer orders, providing proactive communication on lead times, order status, and potential delays until formal handoff to Customer Service.
- Utilize product specifications and standard logistics guidelines to generate estimated freight pricing.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of customer order management to the Customer Service group.
- Escalate non-standard pricing, delivery requirements, compliance considerations, or technical requests in accordance with company approval processes.

- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction, repeat business, and long-term partnerships.
- Reach out/engage with assigned past customers to convert back to routine business.
- Develop and execute account-level plans to introduce the Company’s product and service offering and convert customers to approved “best value” products using standardized offerings.
- Support execution of new product commercialization initiatives as directed, including customer outreach, quoting, and initial order conversion.
- Support Account Managers on key accounts where quoting or transactional support is required, operating as part of the extended customer team without primary account ownership.
- Prepare and follow up on sales quotations and proposals in line with customer requirements and company objectives, escalating deviations from standard pricing, terms, or configurations as required.
- Proactively reach out to assigned target businesses to drive initial customer conversion and first-order placement, coordinating with Business Development for strategic or program-level opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records for all customer interactions, opportunities, and orders, supporting pipeline management, forecasting, and cross-functional visibility.
- Stay current with product knowledge by studying new product descriptions, reviewing technical documents, and participating in training sessions.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Operate in compliance with company sales policies, export control requirements, and customer eligibility guidelines, escalating uncertainties prior to quoting or order acceptance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of inside sales experience, reflective of the responsibilities of this position in relevant company business models.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to “getting the job done”.
