Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Oncology – Tallahassee, FL.
As a key member of the Bristol Myers Squibb team, the Senior TAS will drive demand for BMS medicines within the oncology portfolio, engaging physicians and healthcare professionals (HCPs) through scientific dialogue and a differentiated customer experience. The role is field‑based and requires 100% of the time in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Promote approved indications of BMS oncology products to meet or exceed regional sales targets.
- Create demand for BMS medicines by communicating the scientific and clinical rationale for use.
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned therapeutic areas.
- Develop comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Utilize available tools (e.g., CE^3) to inform call plans and provide leadership with insights.
- Deliver in‑office presentations and real‑time medical support in line with label and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with field and cross‑functional teams to enhance the customer experience.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales or medical science liaison roles.
- Strong scientific communication skills, capable of presenting accurate clinical data to HCPs.
- Proven ability to build and maintain credibility with key customers and the broader HCP community.
- Experience in hematology/oncology required.
- Account management expertise, proven sales performance, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Customer/commercial mindset with a focus on business results.
- Patient‑centricity and understanding of the patient journey.
- Scientific agility – excellent communication and continuous learning.
- Analytical capability to interpret prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences.
- Technological agility – proficiency with digital communication channels and CRM tools.
- Teamwork and enterprise mindset with strong business acumen and integrity.
Field – United States – $144,500 – $175,100 (annual). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available.
