Position Overview and Responsibilities
The OPS Laboratory Technician IV, , is part of the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration’s Scientific Services Support Program in the Receiving Group located in Tallahassee. The role involves packing customer kits for field sampling, preparing and shipping sample collection kits, including trip blanks and appropriate preservatives, arranging kit shipment to field locations, assisting with sample discard, and performing other laboratory duties as required.
RequiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the basic concepts and principles of the physical or natural sciences.
- Knowledge of the procedures, equipment, and materials used in laboratory testing and analysis.
- Ability to collect, record, and analyze laboratory data.
- Ability to understand and follow technical instructions related to laboratory testing and analysis.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and travel for work.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, and/or 0–1 year of verifiable related work experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
$19.70 hourly (20 hrs. per week)
