Job Description

As a Security Officer - Roving Patrol in Tallahassee, FL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and support employees and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication.

What You'll Do
  • Provide customer service to clients and team members by following Allied Universal security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a tech and data‑driven location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting events and communicating updates per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, common areas, loading and delivery zones, and the perimeter, observing for unusual activity and reporting concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized entry by verifying credentials and directing guests, vendors, and employees to the proper check‑in process.
  • Complete security‑related reports, incident logs, and patrol documentation using electronic systems as required, and notify appropriate personnel when conditions may require additional support.
Minimum Requirements
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
