Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or delivery personnel by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry at resident community access points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, issuing visitor passes and/or credentials when applicable, and directing approved visitors to designated areas.
  • Maintain an accurate log of visitor activity, contractor check-ins, deliveries, incidents, and/or unusual conditions in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to property management and/or local public services as directed by post instructions.
  • Monitor entry gates, doors, and access devices, reporting malfunctions, forced entry indicators, and/or suspicious behavior to the appropriate contacts.
  • Observe and report unauthorized access attempts, loitering, and/or other policy violations, helping to deter unwanted activity through professional presence and clear communication.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential amenities, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, adjusting patrol routes based on community activity and site guidance.
  • Assist with traffic control and parking guidance during peak arrival times, community events, move-ins, and/or vendor service windows as needed.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to residents and visitors while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor and following confidentiality expectations.
  • Complete required reports, shift handoffs, and documentation using written logs and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant updates to the incoming officer and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
