Supervisory Security Specialist (LAW Enforcement) with Security Clearance

Position: SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST (LAW ENFORCEMENT) with Security Clearance
Location: Tyndall Air Force Base

Duties Duty 1:
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Security Forces Squadron. Duty 2:
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Duty 3:
Represents the Security Forces Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Duty 4:
Makes comprehensive assessments and evaluations of the unit's goals/objectives which provide a basis for long- range planning to enhance the management support capabilities of the Security Forces Squadron. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

* Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* DoD Security Physical Security Certification is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
* Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be subject to recall.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation (Key), and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
* This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve.
* This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
* The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position. EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes directing a program performing technical, administrative, protective and investigative work, and serves as a subject matter expert on law enforcement and security operations for a large, complex multi-mission military installation with a total serviced or supported population exceeding 4000.

Experience as a strategic advisor to other unit commanders on issues involving integrated defense and mission assurance. Experience in developing, coordinating and integrating multiple DoD, HAF, MAJCOM and local plans, polices, and procedures directly affecting national security assets assigned to the installation or geographically separated units. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
