Maintenance Engineer
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, security and structural systems and elements of resort buildings and facilities.
Education- High school diploma/GED, supplemented by technical or college coursework in a trade
- Background with working at a hotel/resort or related is preferred
- 2 years of journey-level work in facilities, plant construction, plant operations, or maintenance and repair; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
Must have a valid driver’s license; motor vehicle background check will be completed.
Skills And Abilities- Fluent in English; ability to convey information clearly. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks during the work shift.
- Shows initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
- Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations – fast-paced environment.
- Maintains composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests.
- Ability to work independently.
Engineers work in fast-paced environments. This role may require standing for long hours and exposure to extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, electrical currents, gases, dust, and noxious odors.
Hours40 hours a week, variable hours which may include 2nd shift; weekend availability required.
