Minimum Requirements
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent.

Job Duties
  • Annual cutback and seasonal pruning of citrus trees.
  • Raking leaves and clearing greenhouse of cutback debris.
  • Tree planting.
  • Keeping greenhouse clear of weeds by periodic herbicide application while using correct personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Participates in fruit harvest and the seed extraction process in the seed source block.
  • Participates in cutting budwood from foundation greenhouse trees, keeping individual tree identity and filling out all paperwork required for distribution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic plant cultivation.
  • Knowledge or skill with using hand and gardening tools.
  • Knowledge of pesticide application safety.
  • Ability to correctly use personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in a greenhouse environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and bend repetitiously.
  • Ability to operate a computer to access and retrieve electronic information.
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and humid environments.
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground and in inclement weather.
