RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation & Repair
:
Installing and fixing bathroom and toilet fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, tubs) throughout guest rooms and public areas. - Preventive Maintenance
:
Performing scheduled inspections on water heaters, sewer lines, and grease traps to prevent emergencies and minimize downtime. - Emergency Response
:
Quickly diagnosing and resolving urgent issues like burst pipes, major leaks, or severely clogged drains to avoid guest dissatisfaction. - System Upkeep
:
Maintaining complex hotel infrastructure, including potable and non-potable water systems, swimming pool filtration, and commercial kitchen facilities. - Compliance & Records
:
Ensuring all work meets local plumbing codes and safety regulations while keeping detailed logs of repairs and inventory. - Supplemental Duties: In lieu of plumbing‑specific responsibilities when workload is limited, performing routine resort maintenance tasks to support overall property operations.
- Technical Expertise
:
Proficiency in pipe threading, soldering, welding, and reading blueprints or technical drawings. - Problem-Solving
:
Strong troubleshooting skills to identify the source of leaks or blockages in large‑scale building systems. - Physical Stamina
:
The ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more), work in cramped spaces, and remain on one's feet for long shifts. - Guest Service
:
Professional communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude when addressing repair needs in occupied guest rooms.
Adaptability & Flexibility: Adapts to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities.
Safety: The employee is safety conscious about the work environment and equipment. The work area is free of debris to prevent trip and slip hazards. All products and equipment are stored in their proper location. All safety guards and other safety devices are in their proper location, are functional, and utilized effectively on a consistent basis. Standard operating procedures, safety work rules and good general manufacturing practices are followed on a daily basis.
Care and Use of Equipment - The extent to which the employee is able to perform all maintenance and operations checks of job‑related equipment.
Experience and Requirements- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2+ years experience of commercial or hotel maintenance
- Journeyman or Master Plumber license is required
To perform the essential job functions in this position it may require rigorous activity; grasping, writing, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods, walking, bending, stretching, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and stairs; operation of small hand tools such as drills, grinders and saws. Must be able to walk up and down stairs while carrying heavy items.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual frequently works in both an indoor and outdoor climate. Associate may be exposed to chemicals.
