Advanced skilled work in the maintenance, construction and repair of county rights-of-ways, stormwater conveyance and facilities.
Job DescriptionPerform repair and installation of concrete sidewalks, curb & gutter, driveways and handicap ramps.
Construct complex forming projects utilizing wood and metal products while maintaining and setting to proper grade.
Perform drainage pipe installation, builds custom concrete catch basins, headwalls and spillways.
Perform asphalt repair and maintenance on county roadways.
Conduct labor tasks to keep roadways and rights-of-way clear of obstructions.
Operate specialized equipment;
Dump trucks, backhoes, small excavators, skid loaders, front end loaders and other related equipment required to maintain and repair road rights-of-ways and stormwater systems.
Respond to customer complaints relating to road right of way issues, including ADA complaints, asphalt repair complaints, line of site problems and road way blockage concerns.
Work Hours:
Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems and /or road right-of-way areas.
Must be able to acquire a Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months from the date of hire.
A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.
Preferred QualificationsOperation of backhoes, excavators, trenchers, personal computers, and mechanical tools used in the stormwater maintenance industry.
Experience in operating equipment used for concrete and asphalt maintenance and repairs in and around road rights-of-way.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening:
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years
Starting Pay Range: $17.18 (Step
1) - $18.78 (Step
4) depending on experience
Position Salary Range: $17.18 (Step
1) - $25.24 (Step 14)
