Utility LINE Technician II

Position: UTILITY LINE TECHNICIAN II (Multiple Opportunities)
Location: Palm Beach

Performs skilled manual field work in the Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection section of the Water Utilities Department (WUD). Under the general supervision of the Utility Line Technician III or Utility Line Crew Chief, uses independent judgment to carry out duties. Directs the work of others on the crew; reads and follows sketches and blueprints. Works in all types of weather conditions and is required to work where hazardous conditions exist.

Work is reviewed through visual inspections and the results obtained upon completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

Special Requirements :
Must possess the following at time of application:

* Florida Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement AND

* Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Level 3 Water Distribution License AND

* WUD-recognized Class C Wastewater Collection Certification.

Copies of License and Certification, including FL Class A CDL, must be uploaded to online application within three (3) business days of application submittal.

PREFERENCE FOR:
Valid FDEP Level 2 Water Distribution License; experience with maintenance work order computer programs.

SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid FL Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement at time of application and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
