Landfill Gas Technician
Are you looking for a hands‑on role with career growth opportunities in a stable, year‑round industry? Waste Connections is hiring a Gas Technician to work outdoors while learning advanced skills such as HDPE pipe fusion, pneumatic pump maintenance, and gas system monitoring. Schedule
Monday-Friday, 40-50 hours per week with occasional Saturdays
Pay
$21-$25 DOE
Responsibilities Include
* Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill
* Work with the Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance
* Maintain relationships with landfill employees, consultants, and vendors
* Use gas analyzers to monitor gas wells and probes
* Perform maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including removal, inspection, and repairs
* Monitor liquid levels in gas wells
* Perform HDPE pipe fusion
Position Requirements
* Ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision
* Coachable and able to learn safe landfill navigation
* Willingness to work outdoors for most of the day
* Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks
* Provide on‑call response to the gas collection system
* Experience with hand and power tools
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Ability to collect, interpret, and draw conclusions from data
