Diesel Mechanic – Road Construction

We are a road construction company seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, with a focus on heavy construction equipment and diesel trucks. This role is critical to our operations, requiring a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently diagnose and resolve complex issues. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks, to ensure optimal performance of diesel engines and associated equipment
  • Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment, identifying and addressing any issues or defects that may impact performance or safety
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems with industrial equipment, including engines, hydraulic systems, and air brakes
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve overall efficiency
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs, including parts used and labor hours, to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of work completed
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a focus on heavy equipment and diesel engines required
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and air brakes
  • Experience working in road construction environments preferred
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in a fast-paced outdoor environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
