Senior Commercial HVAC Technician - On-Call

EPA Type 2 or Universal certification REQUIRED

Skol Construction Concepts, an arm of Checkmate Pizza – one of the largest Domino’s franchises in the United States – is hiring an experienced HVAC Technician with 3 years of experience to assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including makeline tables and walk‑in coolers.

Full time. Flexible shifts including nights, some weekends, and rotating on‑call duty with other technicians.

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour. Benefits include health insurance, dental, and paid time off.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain restaurant‑level HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Service and repair 5–10 ton HVAC units, makeline tables, walk‑in and reach‑in coolers, and walk‑in coolers.
• Handle thermostats and remote equipment controllers.
• Detect and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults through monitoring.
• Use hand and power tools, refrigerant gauges, multimeters, ohmmeters, and related equipment for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Work from elevated areas, including ladders, platforms, and rooftops.
• Maintain warranty and repair records and keep asset tags up to date.
• Perform mild plumbing tasks such as mop sink drains and mild electrical tasks such as installing switches, outlets, and conduit.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of HVAC/IVR experience.
• Basic computer skills for word processing and spreadsheets.
• EPA Type 2 or Universal certification required; contractor’s license preferred.

• Pass a background check and random drug screenings.
• Maintain a clean driving record (regular MVR reports).
• Have a smart device to communicate and access Service Channel; carry a cell phone for on‑call rotating schedules.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and tools.
• Complete work orders promptly, prioritizing critical tasks.
• Work independently without direct supervision on daily tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Operate under extreme stress during equipment failures.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form.
• Critical thinker with strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Work comfortably in temperatures ranging from 30°F to 100°F for extended periods.
• Work in narrow aisles, passageways, and confined spaces for prolonged durations.
• Remain calm, professional, and maintain self‑control during challenging events.
• Lift 50 pounds or more frequently and stand or kneel for multiple hours.
