Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually
Position SummaryAdvanced Air Systems is looking for an experienced HVAC Technical Supervisor to support our commercial service team through hands‑on field oversight, technician support, and quality control. This role supports commercial HVAC service operations by overseeing the quality, safety, and execution of service work. The position is split 50% between office responsibilities and 50% on‑site job visits, supporting technicians, reviewing work, and addressing technical or service‑related issues.
While the role does not have direct reports, it has the authority to train, coach, and discipline service technicians to ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations. The HVAC Technical Supervisor also assists with customer issues, job scoping, service coordination, and technician reporting, and works closely with the HVAC Service Manager to support daily service operations.
- Enforce branch objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Monitor and ensure the quality of commercial HVAC service work through job site visits and inspections
- Support assigned customer relationships and assist with issue and conflict resolution
- Monitor technician safety performance and ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety programs
- Assist with job scoping and estimating for repairs, replacements, and maintenance work
- Meet regularly with technicians to review daily work activities and ensure job readiness
- Respond to on‑site incidents and service emergencies in accordance with company procedures
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving complex technical HVAC issues
- Train, coach, and discipline technicians as needed to address technical or performance issues
- Conduct monthly toolbox talks and reinforce safety and quality standards
- Perform job site inspections and assist with material takeoffs as directed
- Provide technical support to technicians as needed
- Provide daily and/or weekly operational reports to the HVAC Service Manager
- Support service projects, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance, through value engineering and coordination with the Service Manager and Service Coordinator
- Assist with material planning, monitor material orders and deliveries, and support inventory counts as required
- Monitor job progress, service production, and quality through field inspections and customer feedback
- Ensure all required inspections are scheduled, completed, and passed
- Assist with coordination of deliveries and equipment, including cranes, for larger service jobs when needed
- Perform additional duties as required by branch operations or as directed by the Service Manager
Education
- 4-year technical degree or equivalent or extensive experience in the commercial HVAC industry preferred
Experience
- Over 5 years in the HVAC industry with technical hands‑on experience.
- Experience in HVAC Service Industry.
Skills & Requirements
- Available to respond to service emergencies as needed, including participation in an on‑call rotation
- Ability to lift 100 lbs or more
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- CAD or Sketch Up experience is a plus
- Highly responsive with a collaborative, team‑oriented attitude
- Ability to safely carry and set up extension ladders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and high level of self‑motivation
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Displays energy, initiative, and independent problem‑solving skills
- Successful completion of a background investigation
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
