Position Overview
Chemours is seeking a Mechanic to join our growing Maxville Mine team! This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor at our Maxville, FL location.
Responsibilities- Perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting work involving process equipment and mechanical systems for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, maximizing equipment availability and reducing downtime.
- Safely and efficiently maintain, serve, install, replace water and slurry pumps, clarifiers, screeners, conveyors, feeders, shredders, bins, valves, and other mineral processing wear parts.
- Install, replace, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain process equipment along with performing preventive maintenance activities on all process equipment.
- High School graduate or equivalent plus specialized training in mechanical, maintenance, or a related field.
- Understanding of methods and techniques for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing plant equipment, rigging and lifting equipment, and precision laser alignment of pumps and motors.
- Knowledge of MSHA rules and regulations.
- Ability to use computers and applicable software applications.
- +5 years of plant maintenance experience.
- Valid Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent, welding and rigging certification.
