The Great Mr. Swindle's Traveling Peculiarium is an award-winning touring theatrical production presented under our custom-built, climate-controlled Boutique Big Top. Combining world-class circus artistry, comedy, music, and immersive storytelling, the Peculiarium has entertained audiences across Florida since 2018 and continues to expand into new markets.

This position is responsible for the lighting, audio, video, networking, and show control systems throughout the tour, from the initial load‑in to the final load‑out. The successful candidate will operate the show, maintain the equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure every performance runs smoothly. This is a hands‑on working position, not a supervisory role. The lighting and audio systems are professionally designed and documented before the tour begins;

the Production Technician implements those designs, operates the show, and accurately recreates the production at each stop so every audience enjoys the same high‑quality experience.

• Operate all lighting, audio, and show control systems during performances, executing all cues accurately and consistently.
• Lead the setup and teardown of all lighting, audio, networking, video, and show control equipment, and personally participate in every load‑in and load‑out.
• Read and accurately implement lighting plots, wiring diagrams, signal flow diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.
• Set up, operate, and maintain the ETC Eos lighting system, Midas M32R digital mixing console, QLab, and all associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting, audio, networking, video, and electrical systems as needed.
• Maintain all production equipment in clean, organized, show‑ready condition and perform routine maintenance.
• Start and stop a stationary video camera to record each performance for archival purposes.
• Recommend and help implement future technical improvements as the production evolves.

• Professional experience with theatrical, concert, or touring lighting and audio systems.
• Ability to read and implement lighting plots, wiring diagrams, patch sheets, and signal flow documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across lighting, audio, DMX, networking, video, and show control.
• Comfortable using ladders and hand tools, working both indoors and outdoors.
• Able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding load‑ins and load‑outs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable living and working with a small touring company for the full season.

ETC Eos, Midas M32R, QLab, DMX distribution and networking, basic audio system tuning, show control systems, basic networking (wired and wireless), basic electrical troubleshooting, and touring theatre, circus, concert, or live event production.

• Competitive compensation of $1,200 to $1,400 per week, depending on experience.
