Job Description
The Mechanical Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, and related mechanical equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise to diagnose system issues, perform preventive maintenance, and execute repairs that ensure optimal system performance and reliability. The technician interprets schematics and technical documentation, applies industry best practices, and maintains compliance with all safety regulations and company standards.

Duties / Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures and diagnose proper repairs on commercial HVAC equipment, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company standards
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently
- Set up, operate, and maintain HVAC systems
- Promote safe work practices in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations
- Accurately apply mathematical formulas to determine system tonnage requirements
- Complete all necessary paperwork promptly
- Consistently strive for high-quality results that meet or exceed performance standards
- Hold a FL driver license and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Obtain and maintain all required industry certifications
- Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Able to explain technical information to non-technical customers
- Positive self-starter who is motivated, coachable, and flexible
- Willing to work overtime or on-call shifts as needed to support customer and company needs
During a 10-hour workday, must be able to:
- Visually identify wiring by color
- Lift/carry up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. regularly, and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Stand, kneel, bend, climb, squat, and reach above shoulder for extended periods.
- Use upper extremities for grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine hand manipulations.
- Safely climb ladders up to 12 feet and work at elevated heights when required.
- Safely navigate uneven surfaces.
- Work outdoors in extreme conditions (heat, cold, etc.) and in tight or confined spaces when required.
- Field-based position with regular travel to job site locations.
