We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Broadband Installer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber internet service equipment for our residential and commercial clients. This role requires a mix of technical prowess, customer service skills, and hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Install fiber internet equipment including but not limited to routers and cables.
- Conduct site surveys to determine the optimal placement of equipment for the best signal strength and customer satisfaction.
- Configure and test newly installed equipment to ensure optimum performance and compliance with company standards.
- Respond to service calls to diagnose and resolve any connectivity or equipment issues.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on installed equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Replace or upgrade outdated, or malfunctioning equipment as required.
- Educate customers on the proper use of equipment, potential issues, and basic troubleshooting steps.
- Address any concerns or queries that customers might have in a courteous and professional manner.
- Report feedback from clients to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and customer interactions.
- Report any identified issues or trends that might impact service quality or customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with other technicians and the customer service team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on the latest industry trends and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in a related field is a plus such as Industrial Electricity, Electronics and Network Engineering.
- Previous experience in a fiber and wireless telecommunications field is preferred; will look at candidates with other relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of wireless and fiber technologies, routers, and networking a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on-site.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights (using ladders, lift equipment, etc.).
- Able to work flexible hours; will require participation in on-call rotation.
- Physical capability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
