Position: AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC with Security Clearance
Location: Eglin Air Force Base

Duties
* You will troubleshoot, repair and overhaul a variety of equipment and vehicles such as automobiles, trucks, lawn mowers, forklifts, farm tractors, all terrain vehicles, bush hogs, and light ground maintenance equipment.
* You will interpret and apply manufacturer's repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics, engineering drawings, diagnostic codes, computer printouts, and environmental and safety manuals to ensure work meets manufacturer's specifications.
* You will maintain, repair and/or overhaul complex major components and systems, such as engines, transmissions, axle assemblies, differentials, transaxles, suspensions and other assemblies. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid United States driver's license and CDL license.
* There is a possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes from spills and/or leaks which may require incumbent to wear protective clothing (e.g. rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.). Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. I have the ability to perform common tasks including
1) Repairing components and systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, emission control systems, and related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel, and other assemblies;
2) Use hand and power tools common to the occupation (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, insulated pliers, electric drills, pneumatic wrenches, and soldering irons) and a wide variety of specialized tools and test equipment (e.g., bench lathes, grinding and seating equipment, clutch pilot and gear puller tools; precision measuring tools such as dial gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers; vacuum gauges, tachometers, compression testers, capacity testers, coil testers, and pressure bleeding devices);
3) Interpret and apply manufacturers' repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics and engineering drawings, diagnostic codes, computer printouts, and safety manuals;
