Timber Plant Maintenance Technician

West Fraser is seeking a Timber Plant Maintenance Technician to keep lumber mill equipment operating safely and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and basic electrical systems on saws, conveyors, motors, and hydraulic equipment, performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant mechanical and basic electrical equipment
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on sawmill and timber processing machinery
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems
• Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance
• Document maintenance work, parts usage, and equipment condition
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives in the mill
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and compliant maintenance work area
