Maintenance Technician

West Fraser is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our high-volume wood products manufacturing equipment running safely and reliably. In this hands-on role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on sawmill and material-handling machinery, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with production teams in a safety-first, collaborative environment with strong training, advancement opportunities, and the chance to grow a long-term career in sustainable, modern manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on sawmill and material-handling equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
• Inspect equipment, identify root causes of failures, and recommend improvements
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and company safety standards
• Use CMMS to document work orders, parts usage, and maintenance history
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and support production goals
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
• Maintain tools, work areas, and equipment in a clean, safe condition
