The Woodworker and Carpenter is a full-time, on-site role based in Nokomis, FL, focused on crafting and installing high-quality wood components for residential projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and assembling lumber; building and installing framing, trim, cabinetry, and custom wood features; and using hand and power tools safely and effectively. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings, ensuring work meets structural and aesthetic requirements, and collaborating with other team members on construction schedules and site coordination.
The Woodworker and Carpenter will also be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work area, inspecting materials for defects, and following safety protocols and company standards for workmanship.
- Strong carpentry skills, including framing, finish work, and installation of doors, windows, and trim.
- Woodworking experience in cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing custom wood components.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, sanders) and adherence to safe operating practices.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, building codes, and basic structural principles.
- Attention to detail, commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, and ability to meet project timelines.
- Physical ability to lift materials, work on ladders, and perform tasks in various site conditions.
- Reliable transportation to the Nokomis, FL job site and willingness to work standard full-time construction hours.
- Prior experience in residential construction or cabinetry is strongly preferred; apprenticeship or vocational training in carpentry or woodworking is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse team members and communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues.
