The Adoption Coordinator works as part of Kids Central, Inc. (KCI) Out of Home Care Department. Provides organizational consultation regarding case‑specific issues as well as procedural and community issues to an assigned contracted family care management agency. Ensures that the quality of services is monitored and tracked, including out‑of‑home care services, protective services and adoption‑related services. Incumbent reports to the Sr.
Director of Out of Home Care. Incumbent utilizes Kids Central, Inc., and the Department of Children and Families' operating policy and procedure to measure quality service provision.
- Acts as a troubleshooter for the Adoption process at Kids Central.
- Requires frequent off‑site activities that address improvements in the system of care.
- Provides guidance and direction to contracted agencies.
- Facilitates corrective action across the system of care.
- Facilitates positive community relations.
- Research operating procedures in accordance with federal law, Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and Florida Juvenile Rules of Procedure. Ensures policy updates or changes are communicated to the assigned family care management agency.
- Develops processes to ensure that family care management outcome measures comply with statutorily mandated benchmarks for permanency and adoption‑related services.
- Tracks, logs, and reviews all adoptive subsidy packets before submission to Sr. Director of Out of Home Care for approval.
- Reviews and processes inquiries from adoptive parents received by Kids Central’s Ombudsman. Responsible for investigating, assisting care management in responding, and providing a resolution to complaints and inquiries. Tracks all inquiries and reports out monthly.
- Serves as representative for Kids Central on the Adoption Review Committee.
- Facilitates the Separated Sibling Staffings.
- Utilizes established reporting mechanisms for Adoptions finalized within 24 Months and other performance reports and safety measurements related to the adoption process.
- Participates in quarterly case review for the contracted Adoption case management provider. Assists in the case review process, including sample collection, entrance and exit interviewing, aggregating data, and report writing. Produce data reports and examine performance trends.
- Assists in training staff and staff development activities. Provides ongoing training and updates on policy and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring the Adoption Chronicles are updated and current on the website.
- Performs any other related duties as required.
- A master’s degree in social services is strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in social services or related, and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Adoptions is required. Strong organizational and data management skills required.
- Ability to clear a Level II Background Screen
- Valid driver’s license and insurable through the agency’s current insurance carrier
- Must carry a personal phone with a voice plan only for business communications during and outside business hours
- Provides leadership and consultation to the management of contracted agencies.
- Ability to function within a highly professional team.
- Ability to develop policies and procedures that serve as the agency's operational guidelines and mandates.
