Salary: $40,560.00 annually ($1,560.00 bi-weekly plus $1.00 hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts).
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the custody, personal care, safety, security, and well‑being of residents ordered by the Court to the custody of DDDP/Pathways.
The Work You Will Do
- Implement and deploy behavioral programs designed for each resident in an appropriate, fair, and impartial manner.
- Document and file all resident activities in the appropriate charts according to Agency protocol; notify supervisor of any issues.
- Perform 1:1 specials in accordance with Agency protocols and complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Coordinate with unit supervisors on behavioral problems and assist in planning corrective measures.
- Collaborate with ward or unit supervisors to ensure developmentally disabled residents receive prescribed care and training.
- Make daily rounds of assigned wards or units for safety and sanitation; report findings as per Agency policy.
- Maintain Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification and apply programming techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, pull, squat, and stand for extended periods.
- One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a psychiatric care setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform duties requiring direct contact with residents in a secure forensic facility.
Additional Requirements
- Certification in the Agency’s Crisis Prevention and Intervention Program (advanced training may be required).
- Pre‑employment and annual TB screening.
- Annual CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of appropriate business practices and protocols used in the treatment of developmentally disabled persons.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Assist professionals in implementing prescribed treatment and rehabilitation programs.
- Observe residents and document changes or unusual events affecting safety.
- Maintain and update resident records and charts.
- Work effectively in a team environment and establish relationships with residents and staff.
- Communicate and interact with residents and staff efficiently and timely.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Maintain required certification in the Agency Crisis Prevention and Intervention Program.
- Apply Crisis Prevention and Intervention techniques.
- Ensure residents are adequately cared for and receive prescribed treatment.
- Identify understaffed wards or units and emergency situations.
