Salary Range: $52,200.00 To $74,360.00 Annually

RCMA Immokalee Community Academy, an "A" rated Title I Charter School in Collier County, is seeking an energetic and passionate School Counselor for the upcoming  school year. RCMA serves the community of Florida’s farm workers and agricultural migrants for more than twenty years, providing a dual-language program (50:50 English/Spanish) to students who are primarily English Language Learners of Central American heritage.

Provides support services to students, staff, and parents—referrals, counseling, assessment, diagnostics, and report writing—across the academy site, public buildings, and private residences. Requires discretion, independent judgment, and social work skills to establish and maintain community service networks for families.

• Provides direct support services to individual students, small groups, and classrooms.
• Completes assessments, referrals, and counseling with students and families.
• Completes home visits and assessments.
• Provides professional social work skills and initiatives to develop community partnerships and establish a network of accessible services for families.
• Plans and provides a variety of parent involvement and education activities that meet the needs of individuals and groups of parents.
• Provides individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive, and remedial needs of students.
• Consults with students, parents, teachers, and other academy and community personnel to assist in meeting the needs of students.
• Establishes the academy counseling program and develops activities and resources to implement and evaluate the program, involving other academy staff in decision‑making.
• Makes oral presentations of assessments, diagnostics, home visits, and observations.
• Completes written reports as needed or as requested by the Charter Academy Principal.

Note:

Regular work attendance (minimum of 5 days a week, 40 hours per week) is necessary to perform the essential duties.

Requires independent judgment and discretion under the general supervision of the Charter Academy Principal. The individual must meet age, medical, moral character, and Florida Statutes requirements. Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Must have 1-3 years of experience teaching, counseling, or other experience working with students and families.

Experience with training or supervision of non‑degreed professionals, facilitating support groups, working with economically disadvantaged families in a community setting, and experience in supervision, community development, and scheduling.
