The Impact You'll Make

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Compressor Software to lead the development of a next-generation cross-product controls platform that will unify and enhance control systems across all existing compressor products, while enabling scalability for future innovations.

This role will oversee the creation of a new embedded software baseline for core control functions (bearing control, motor control, PID, etc.) and customer-facing experiences, with a strong emphasis on web-based interfaces
. Additional development areas include automated testing tools
, desktop engineering support applications
, and production line support tools
.

What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead the Compressor Software Development department, overseeing product design, implementation, and verification.
  • Hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent at all levels.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven team culture.

Project & Resource Management
  • Manage group priorities, resources, and schedules to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with world-class quality

  • Maintain and improve departmental processes, tools, and procedures for sustainable efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead maintenance and enhancement of existing embedded and PC software products.
  • Oversee outsourced software projects when applicable.
Technical Execution
  • Develop product requirement specifications and verification test procedures.
  • Implement embedded and PC software designs, including unit testing.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, problem-solving, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in customer system integrations and engineering workshops.
  • Support new technology research and development efforts.
  • Interpret product specifications, drawings, schematics, and designs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and development environments.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
  • 10+ years of professional experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proficiency in developing PC or embedded applications in C/C++ using a real-time operating system (RTOS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated software testing.
  • Embedded Linux expertise.
  • Peripheral driver design and troubleshooting (SPI, I2C, USB, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet).
  • Experience with TI C28x MCU family or ARM microcontrollers

  • Proven success leading projects in a matrix organization.
