As a Sr. Professional Programmer Analyst (Batch/UNIX/C/SQL) at Gainwell, you will be a part of an innovative healthcare technology company with a mission to serve the healthcare needs of our communities. You will use your programming and analytical skills to drive the development of healthcare administration products used, and relied upon, by millions of patients. Your role in our missionTake a close look at some of the details that contribute to Gainwell’s industry-leading tools and technologies in this challenging position.
- Code, test, debug, implement and document moderately complex programs
- Analyze, design and write specs and reqs from which we develop and code programs
- Evaluate existing systems and programs; assist project the manager in assigning tasks and work closely with a team
- Liaise with clients and management to provide technical consulting on complex programming projects, validate program requirements and resolve issues that arise
- Develop test plans and participate in QA activities such as coding reviews
- Participate as a member of a development team and lead a small sub-team of developers as needed
- Design system components and delegate responsibilities to team members
- 6+ years of application/software development, programming and testing experience with C, Oracle, SQL, and version control in a Linux environment (previous healthcare and claims systems experience is required)
- Experience with the full software development life cycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for the design, creation, and testing of programs
- Strong written and oral communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel and clients
- Ability to work effectively as an independent contributor and as leader on a team
- Knowledge in XML and EDI Healthcare transactions is strongly preferred.

If you live within a commutable distance to Tallahassee, FL some onsite may be required (1-2 days per week) - Participation in Production support activities which requires 24/7 availability during on-call rotation.

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required
- Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation

The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
