Certified Aqua Fitness Instructor needed for the summer! Second Line Fitness is seeking Aqua Instructors in the Green Cove Springs and St. Johns County area. The ideal person is passionate about fitness, health and wellness and enjoys helping people reach their full potential. Second Line Fitness offers a variety of group fitness classes to clients in Northeast Florida. We are currently looking for instructors to teach aqua classes during the weekday mornings and afternoon/evenings as well as Saturday mornings to a multigenerational and 55-plus community.
Key Responsibilities:- Travel to and from the class location.
- Provide attentive guidance to ensure proper exercise form and safety for all participants.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, reflecting our commitment to excellence.
- Motivate and lead residents through invigorating fitness classes.
- Adapt exercises to accommodate diverse skill levels and physical conditions.
- Be a fitness influencer within the community and establish your brand for success.
- Introduce yourself and the format of the class.
- Inquire if there are any first-timers in the group and if so, assess their fitness level in as private a manner as possible.
- Make sure all verbal instructions are clear and that the volume, tempo of music, and overall atmosphere are conducive to hearing, teaching, learning, and having fun.
- Continually monitor participants to ensure all participants are using correct form.
- Offer variations of the routine to accommodate all fitness levels.
- Create a motivational and fun environment for all participants.
- Remove all music and return microphone to proper place.
- Make sure area is in order for the next class to begin.
- Answer any questions/concerns participants may have.
- Solicit feedback from participants about the class.
- Make sure that class begins and ends promptly.
- If necessary, make adjustments to the flow of the class to ensure adherence to the schedule.
- If a Group Exercise Instructor cannot fulfill a scheduled class, it is his/her responsibility to notify the Group Exercise Director in advance so a qualified/approved substitute can be arranged.
- Group Exercise Instructors must be dependable and consistent in their class schedules.
- Anyone committing to teach a class should make all arrangements so that substitutes or cancellations are a rare occurrence.
- Attend all required staff meetings as necessary.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards his/her responsibilities, fellow employees, and members.
- Promote the Company as much as possible.

This position is a 1099 independent contractor position with Second Line Fitness. Must have liability insurance or be willing to obtain liability insurance coverage prior to starting the job. Job Type: Part-time, Contract Work.

- Position requires excellent communication skills.
- Duties include leading and planning Aqua programs in a safe educational environment while providing quality instructional programming.
- This position requires an aqua certification, i.e., Aqua Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, Aqua Fitness etc.
