Job Overview
We are hiring a Roadside Assistance Technician to join the Emergency Roadside Assistance team at AAA The Auto Club Group (ACG). The role involves operating service trucks, diagnosing vehicle issues, and providing emergency support to members while promoting excellent customer service.
Responsibilities- Operate a full‑size or mini service truck or tow truck and applicable service equipment.
- Use GPS and maps to locate member breakdown locations.
- Provide fuel, test and replace batteries, perform jump‑starts, provide lockout service, and change or inflate flat tires.
- Tow members’ vehicles when they cannot be started or are unsafe to drive.
- Ensure 100% member satisfaction by delivering excellent customer service.
- Offer value through On‑The‑Go Tow or battery tests/sales.
- Support special events such as parades, travel shows, Car Care or Public Relations events.
- Hourly rate of $21.50 in Florida.
- Overtime at time and a half.
- Shift premiums: 5% for 5‑11pm, 10% for 11pm‑5am.
- $1,000 sign‑on bonus (new hires only).

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid state driver’s license with minimal infractions.
- If in Illinois, a valid Illinois C‑Non‑CDL driver’s license is required.
- Experience using tablets or electronic devices for call updates, documentation and safety records.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75pounds.
- Successful completion of drug screening, MVR, criminal background and DOT health screenings.
- Vehicle servicing experience (fuel, battery, jump‑starts, lockouts, tire service).
- Prior tow‑truck driver or roadside service experience.
- Ability to operate wheel lifts, flatbeds, dollies and full‑size or mini service vehicles.
- Commercial driving experience.
The role provides roadside service to AAA members, primarily outside the office with up to 95% of the work time exposed to road hazards and temperature extremes. Less than 5% of the time is spent in a temperature‑controlled office environment.
