Logistics Manager II
Lead the planning and execution of advanced logistics operations to support organizational goals. Manage complex logistics and depot support activities, mentor junior staff, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective logistics solutions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and comply with industry standards.
Responsibilities- Lead advanced logistics and depot support operations.
- Manage complex logistics activities and ensure timely execution.
- Mentor and train junior logistics staff.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective logistics solutions.
- Oversee the development and execution of customer training programs.
- Monitor and improve logistics performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance logistics processes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field of study.
- 9+ years of logistics management experience, at least 2+ years in a leadership role. Alternative qualifications: a minimum of 13 years of related experience if no degree, or higher level degree substituting for experience.
- Advanced understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
- In‑depth understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) for import/export of goods.
- Relevant experience working with logistics/warehouse environment and warehouse management systems.
- Progressive experience applying Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.
- Ability to travel extensively, often overseas.
- Prior experience handling hazardous/dangerous goods and materials.
- Previous management experience: recruiting, directing, evaluating staff, and overseeing staff competence.
- Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
- Meeting current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
- Must pass a pre‑deployment medical assessment.
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules.
- Current valid passport and ability to obtain a visa for international travel.
- Willingness to deploy OCONUS/CONUS missions on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
- An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
- Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced logistics tools.
- Familiarity with military units, airborne SIGINT systems and aircraft sensor equipment.
- Understanding of third‑party shipping vendors and requirements.
- Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and clean driving record.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Requirement to be on your feet for parts of the work shift.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling logistics equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced office or hybrid environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
